Kezia Lee
I was born on 21 October 1982 to Cletus and Julia Servin on the most beautiful island of St Lucia. When I was 8 years old, I went to Summer Vacation Bible school at the Baptist Church in my communitity and decided that I would raise my hand when the nice lady asked “does anyone want to accept Jesus as their personal saviour today?”. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I knew I would get candy for doing it. I followed her outside with the other kids who decided to raise their hands too. She explained that I would become a christian after saying this prayer, Jesus would live in my heart and I would have to obey him, talk to him and share him with my friends. I thought that was cool, after all I wanted to be “a good little girl”. I got Jesus and candy.
A lot has changed over the years, but I’m still wanting to be “a good little girl” for Jesus. My journey as a christian began that day and has evolved into something way beyond any 8 year old St Lucian girls imagination. This Jesus person has become real to me, and I want to obey Him and not just share him with my friends, but with those I don’t know.
I became a full time missionary in September 2005. I started my formal training with Youth With A Mission in Barbados and it has become my home ever since. My heart is to help young people realise that there is more to just “raising your hand” because you’ll get the sweet taste of candy after doing so. This is a lifestyle, a life long decision, a never ending story, a story I would like to share with you!
